American Bresse Started Chicks – 4 Days to 2 Weeks Old
Missed the day-old shipping window? Our American Bresse Started Chicks are young chicks that are past the age allowed for day-old chick shipping but have not yet reached our 2–4 week Juvenile stage.
These chicks are eating and drinking independently and getting a great start in our brooders. They’re an excellent option for local customers who want young Bresse chicks without having to wait for the next hatch.
Started chicks are offered straight run (unsexed) and are available in Blue, Black, Splash, and White, depending on current availability.

Started chicks are not available for shipping. Once chicks have passed our day-old shipping window, they remain available for local pickup until they move into our Juvenile age group.
What Is a Started Chick?
Our Started Chicks are approximately 4 days to 2 weeks old. They’re older than the chicks we ship as day-olds but younger than our 2–4 week Juvenile birds.
At this age, chicks are eating and drinking independently but still require supplemental heat and normal brooder care.
